"Out in the line-up" follows David Wakefield, a talented surfer who hid his sexuality for 20 years. After finding support on GaySurfers.net, he comes out during the Sydney Mardi Gras. Joined by Thomas Castets, they embark on a global journey to meet other gay surfers, exposing the challenges they face in a stereotype-dominated sport. The film aims to create awareness, confront the surfing community, and pave the way for a more inclusive culture for future generations of surfers.
